The Rolling Dog Ranch
USA Today recently had a very moving story about the Rolling Dog Ranch which is an animal sanctuary for disabled animals in Montana.
It is run by a couple, Alayne Marker and Steve Smith, who gave up high powered careers at Boeing, to create and run this wonderful, non-profit sanctuary. It cares for dogs, cats and horses - all of which are disabled or have serious medical conditions.
They offer life time care but can only care for 80 animals at a time - accepting new animals only when another animal has died or been adopted.
Needless to say, they accept donations - and welcome visitors during selective weekend hours in the summer.
