Greyhound Rescue

It's tough to see dogs that need homes and can't get them.  Surfing the net today, I came across a picture of a beautiful dog, sleek and graceful - but with those big, sad brown eyes.

The dog was a Greyhound, and the site was for racetrack dog rescues.  It took me less than three minutes to find out that each year, the dogs that aren't fast enough or have started losing more than winning usually just get put down. Most don't even reach 18 months old before their time is up.

Anyone interested in getting a dog should be open-minded and consider all the breeds out there, especially those that are in sad need of homes to spare their lives. You can get plenty of companionship and a friendly face from someone who really needs it!
